Borderlands Skatehouse

UK’s first skatehouse now open

Borderlands Skatehouse is the first UK based Skatehouse, offering a place to stay for skaters wishing to go skate some of the best hills in Deepest Wales.

With most of the hills – specifically, Bleek, Sheepy and Junglewank, among other ‘secret’ spots – being within 2 hours drive from Borderlands, skaters will have the option of either a quick try out on a number of hills or dedicating quality time to one or two.

Borderlands Skatehouse will accommodate whatever works for you.

The usual plan of action for a weekend at Borderlands is to arrive on Friday evening, skate all day Saturday and most of Sunday.

Situated just 200m walk from ‘Cheltenham Spa’ train station, Borderlands is easy and not too expensive to get to from most main stations such as Birmingham or London Paddington.

Direct trains from Birmingham take just over 30mins and from Paddington a little over 2 hours.

Skaters can also bring their own car as parking is available in a private gated area. Borderlands are happy to offer transport to the hills, if skaters prefer, with petrol costs split evenly between the group.

Borderlands Skatehouse can currently take up to 5 riders at a time, in shared accommodation.

To encourage more riders to visit, costs are kept low with just a £15 per person, per day contribution to cover food and utilities.

The room comprises super comfy memory foam mattresses to sleep on but do bring your own sleeping bag.

Breakfast and evening meal are provided by the skatehouse and lunches can  be purchased from the conveniently located supermarket just 200m walk away.  To keep the day’s hype going, a selection of skate videos are available for viewing, via Chromecast, in the evenings.

Finally, remember that these hills are in Wales so, even in Summer, bring rain wheels just in case! There is a mini drying room so don’t let the weather put you off.

If you have any questions regarding a visit, message Borderlands Skatehouse via their FACEBOOK page – and don’t forget to read the REVIEWS.
